We hope this site will be of assistance to you in finding reputable breeders of more than 60 AKC-registered breeds. In this age of the puppy-mill
industry, it is most important that potential dog owners be put in contact with ethical, non-commercial breeders, those who breed for love and not for profit.
Breeders listed here can advise potential buyers on what to expect from the particular breed they are considering. Those who purchase a puppy will always have a ready source of information and guidance as their pet matures. Best of all, they will be assured of buying a healthy, well-socialized puppy
that has been raised in a loving home. |

We've Won This Round Only! |
July 12th UpdateAssemblyman Levine pulled his AB1634 from the Senate Local Government Committee yesterday after he realized that he did not have enough votes to get it through the committee. It cannot be heard again until 2008. It is a momentary victory for the responsible pet owners, breeders and exhibitors. Now, more than ever is the opportunity to use the remainder of 2007 to help educate the public and the proponents of AB1634 that the responsible pet owner is not the enemy and is just as passionate about resolving the issue of pet overpopulation and reducing the numbers of animals euthanized each year. The Sacramento Council of Dog Clubs would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that worked so diligently to defeat AB1634. The Council would also like to thank our state representatives, who realized that this is a serious issue but that AB1634 was not the answer. |
The Sacramento Council of Dog Clubs is joining forces with other dog and cat organizations to team up with PetPac, a politcal action committee designed to protect the rights of responsible pet owners in California. Visit their web site at www.petpac.net to learn how you can help by donating money and/or time. Help us to keep California Pet-Friendly now and for the future.
We are constantly reminded of human frailty after disasters like Hurricane Katrina. We are also reminded of the goodness of humans to pull together and help. The Sacramento Council of Dog Clubs has set up this link to the American Kennel Club's Web site donation page. Just click on the logo to the right. The AKC/CAR program has already sent people and funds to the affected areas. Please give what you can. Thank you.
